Hiroyuki Yabe of Ninety Nine will costar with Ryoko Shinohara in Hanayome wa Dummy (starting July 6, 10 p.m., TBS network). It's a light summer series in which Shinohara plays a talented-but-aging TV news announcer who has been sent off on a variety show assignment. She is to try life as a pretend bride in the countryside, but things don't go as scripted. What changes will take over when she smells that fresh country air?

Yes. I definitely plan to feature this drama at J-Fan Drama. I just saw the preview for it for the first time yesterday.

Sometimes it takes me a long time to get the features up on the site (I still have to add TOP CASTER yet this season), but since you requested it, I'll try to feature "hanayome wa dami" as early as possible when the summer dramas start.

Yep. Shinohara Ryouko sure is big nowadays. Things didn't use to be like this at all.

Too bad, the dorama doesn't do quite well on the rating dept.
Is it because the theme or the characters or lack of chemistry between Ryoko and supporting casts?

I think the biggest problem for ratings is that it airs in the same time slot as Yonekura's "fushin no toki WOMAN WARS". When two similar dramas share a time slot, the ratings have to get divided between the two which lowers the ratings of both. It's unfortunate, but that's just how the TV schedule worked out this season.
